Silentsparrow Month! Day 14 - Happy You Know What!

Brief post (for me), unlike many of the cynics who hate Valentines Day, I'm a happy, thoroughly spoiled girl today, and wish to continue the nauseatingly cute whirl of presents and kisses of the day! It's still a bit of a novelty to me, as my ex was not the romantic type at all, while today I was given a giant (like, dude, seriously, two foot tall) card, a gigantic, delightfully tacky heart shaped box of chocolates, and various other greatness. It's nice to love and be loved in return. Possibly, and this is, I assure you, a completely original statement, not quoted from any neuveau musical movies, the greatest thing you'll ever learn. Is...that thing I just said. See, it wasn't a quote, I mangled it, with awkwardness!

Independently from Persephone, my post today is also Stumblebum Brigade based! This round of Stumblebum goes on for the whole week, so I don't have to feel too bad about posting about it late on a Sunday, you still have plenty of time to grab these goodies. When hya told me she and Allegory were conspiring again for this week, and it would be PINK, Iwaslike "RAAAAAGE!" but it turned out that I was, as I so often am, wrong. If this is pink, I bloody like it! It's dusky and dark and a bit like a red wine stain, but without the headache of it being a stain. The corset and OMG SO TINY skirt are from silentsparrow's new Kurai Tart sets, and wonderfully, you can buy the pieces seperately, or you can buy them in an outfit set, and there are also delightful chunky armwarmers in the ensemble. When the regular colours were released, I was told I could wear the Chapiteau bloomers underneath in order to feel less naked. I did so. I'm not used to my bottom being visiible in silentsparrow! But these are beautifully made little skirts, sculpted, with sexy little knickers to go underneath, I've already enthused about my love for the spirally brocade pattern of the Kurai sets, and this is absolutely no exception. Now, given my adoration of armwarmers, it might seem odd that I'm not wearing the ones that match this, but instead I'm sporting the jacket and stockings from Allegory Malaprop of Schadenfreude's Stumblebum exclusive offering, I love the loose stitching on the arms of the jacket, and the stockings make me feel ever so much less naked, and besides that, Alle's Lucent heels have a colour option that matches PERFECTLY. In a departure from my usual style, I'm wearing one of Schadenfreude's prizes from the Starlust VD hunt, the pink Heartflake eyes, if you click the fullsize of the pucture, you'll be able to see the pretty pretty overlapping hearts that form the detail of these eyes. My usual eyes from this line are made of trees! My skin, I ADORE. It's a Valentine's Day gift from Nomine, and is of the Primrose line, and has that very fashionable at the moment style of lipstick, but also, look! FRECKLES! Beautiful, beautiful freckles. Like, really nicely done. Want. Want moar freckles. I hope there will be more freckles on Nomine skins, I'm all about the freckles. Anyway most of these things are totally limited edition, so go get them NOW! Also, you know - Love each other always!

Silentsparrow Month! Day 11 - It'll be on your desk by the end of the day

The other day I joined Avatars United. If you've not heard of it yet, it's sort of like Facebook, for people in online gamey things, and Linden Lab have recently acquired it, spurring a buttload of SL residents to join. I rather like this. I think it's especially nice for players of games such as Runescape (which I occasionally dabble in), where fraternization outside of the game is generally discouraged due to underagedness and so on, which is well and good for protecting the kiddies, but some of us are adults with pure intentions towards each other. It's odd though, mixing your worlds. Long ago, when I still worked in a club, a new player came in, and he had an oddly familiar and distinctive name, and it clicked, that I had met him in Runescape, before I'd started playing Second Life. We'd been acquaintances at best in Runescape, fished in the same place on the same world from time to time, sort of thing, and in IM, I confirmed that it was indeed him (I'm Nivaya there too), and we chuckled over the coincidence that in all the clubs in all the virtual worlds, he'd wander into mine. He got a bit clingy for a while and then said his mom wouldn't let him play SL anymore, so I'm guessing some underage ban went on there, and I started to idly worry about cross-world stalkers. But anyway, I've "united" with a nice wide range of people on AU, from close friends to people whose name I know, to people whose name I don't know, and linked my Runescape avatar to my SL one and feel strangely accomplished about it all. I'm still not sure of the point in the whole thing apart from to microblog without the bitchiness of Plurk, but on the slim chance that you're reading this from my Feed Reader on AU - HI!

So it looks like my accidental schoolgirl of yesterday graduated nicely and found herself a nice secretarial job of sorts. In a place with a cool dress-code, natch. The basis of the look formed from it being bloody cold here right now, and me wanting to wear one of the silentsparrow's aptly-named Snug cardigans. So I did. The Snug cardigan is the most incredibly cozy-looking thing, rich chunky knit, with sculpted puffy sleeves, with safety-pin fastenings at the front, and pinned on patches, a big one at the back, and a little one at the front. The patches are texture change, and filled with various black and silver artiness, and if you were lucky enough to get the version from last year's Starlust VD hunt, there's also heart-themed patches in there. Underneath it, my 'blouse', with its little sprocket buttons, is actually a vest, from the Twinstar lucky bird suite. If you missed it being in the chair, do not despair! In a move of great loveliness, hya has many many of her past lucky bird sets set out to buy, in the panels of glass next to the lucky bird cage. While you're there, say hello to Otterly and Gravity, parents of one of my bunnies! My skirt is from the semi-vintage Dreaded Sunny Day set, one of the older items in store, which has one of my favourite system skirts in the world. Because I don't fear the system skirt, it's called a skirtshape, yo. Make one right, and you'll have all the best curves in all the best places. Anyway, what I love about this skirt is the wraparound front, with its fishtail effect sexy bit at the front, and the excessive beltage. And the pattern. And the colour. Never, ever ignore classic pieces like this. Do remember to wear panties, though.
Oh! Earlier in the post I mentioned the Starlust VD hunt, the 2010 hunt started today, go do it, and bring your clue-solving head, my gorgeous lip piercing is the prize from Ellabella, and we all know how much I love my Ellabella piercings, this one has four little lip studs, and on a chain, a tiny little heart in a round cage. With some extra chains. It is Love. There are ridiculous amounts of wonderful prizes other than this, too, so go hunt!

Nifty Newness and Other Stuff

I have discovered a great appreciation to the dedicated bloggers that regularly post. I get an idea in my head and then finally get around to taking the pics and posting. So what you are seeing in this blog is new or mostly new outfits from a few of my fave designers.

First off we start with Indyra Originals. Indyra was on of the first places I ever bought lingerie from and not a year later I was lucky to be chosen for her modeling troupe. Right now Indy has been releasing items for her Spring/Summer Line. The newest is called Spiced Diamond.

This outfit has a selection of 5 colors to choose from including the richly hued deep sea blue I am wearing in the picture above.

La Capitaine shows a flirty yet modern side.

The Jacket is primarily sculpty/prims and works great with so many different items. The other day I wore it with Jeans and a tank top. This look is perfect for that afternoon Garden Party. The dress colors are red/white, black/white and yellow/white (show above)

Outfits and shoes can all be found at Indyra Originals

Kellie Iwish of Elate! has released a great new mini-dress called Silvia!

Silvia comes with several color options including, red, green, chocolate and blue.

With this dress I am wearing Prim Feet shoes from SLink! I finally took the plunge and after playing with a color picker and the omni-hud was successful in making a good skin match! Thanks to Alicia Chenaux for her great Tutorial "How Do I Tint My Prim Feet"

Reading the tutorial (link above) is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ before you go off and get a pair. There have been to many What The Fug blog entries over badly tinted feet. Don't let the next one be you!

Next on the newness is by designer Hyacinth Tiramisu of "Silent Sparrow". This dress is called Selador and its totally retro classy with 3 skirt options as well as some naughty pastie option if you want to go for a teasing topless look.

These 2 pictures, I believe show great examples of how versatile this outfit is.

Look One is with the Woofie Skirt ( I will someday be brave enough to ask what Woofie means)

Look 2 is with the Pencil Skirt. I find I am among the few that actually love system skirts. Really its just a matter of creating a skirt shape to get the right look.

The Jewelry featured is by Violet Voltaire. As many of you may have heard she is going to be focusing on her RL Jewelry Designing and is closing her store. Currently she is having a 50% sale on many of her items.

If you would like assistance in creating the perfect skirt shape take a look at this great "Skirtshape Tutorial" by Miko Origamu of Icing

My Good Friend Leah McCullough as just Re-Opened her store .:Naive:. with lots of new items and a men's line too called Magnesium.. The "Persephone's Nightgown" I featured in a previous blog is now up for sale along with some great dresses and casual wear.

First is a new dress in her Catwalk Collection called Grace.

The sequin texture has great sparkle without being over the top.

Then on the more casual side is The Cleo Hoodie and Shorts.

The Cleo Hoodie and Shorts are sold separately. Plus you get both white and black with a color stripe. (green, pink, yellow, blue and purple)

So there you have it. Links to stores can be found above.

See you in the shops!
