A Tribute to Alexander McQueen

Many of you may or may not know the name Alexander McQueen. A brilliant British fashion designer, Alexander McQueen died last month at the age of 40. He won the British Designer of The Year award four times for his shocking and unconventional fashion statements.

As a tribute to his incredible creative and vibrant talent, 38 Second Life finest designers have created their own unique and striking designs to honor his memory. 100% of the proceeds from the sales from this collection are to be donated to the real life charity Keep A Child Alive, that provides life-saving treatment to children in Africa and India infected with the HIV/AIDS virus.

AVENUE, one of Second Life's premier modeling agencies, presented the collection on February 28th to the delight of the virtual world's fashionistas.

Today, I would like to present to you a few of the amazing creations from some of the generous designers who gave their time and talent to share their enthusiasm for Alexander McQueen.

I am always amazed at the ability of the Second Life community to come together during these difficult times of global conflict, natural disasters and economic hardships, to set aside their own troubles and reach out to people in need.

His death has shocked and sadden the world of fashion and his many fans and colleagues.
