Annual Anti-Valentine's Day Post

Let me say up front - I do NOT hate Valentine's Day! I just don't like the fact that one day of the year should be the end-all and be-all of romantic days. Show someone you love them every day of the year. Doesn't have to be in big ways. Just in the little things that let you know someone you care.

With that said, here are my Anti-Valentine's Day picks for 2012!

What better way to end an Anti-Valentine's Day blog than with an anti wedding dress from Son!a.

Forget the flowers, the candy and romantic dinners. Surprise someone you love on a week night with a neck massage. Rent their favorite DVD; the one you never want to watch. have the oil changed in their car or check the air in the tires. It is the little things in life done every day for no reason that means more than all the treats given once a year.

If Lady Macbeth lived in Second Life today she would never curse this creation by Chop Zuey Couture Jewelry! Trust me when I say, this is no ordinary spot!

Out Damned Spot! is a sharp and edgy design from Belle Roussel, owner and creator Chop Zuey. The brushed silver collar necklace is set with black moonstones with large black crystal balls dangling from the bottom edge. A smaller version of the collar graces the wrist in bracelet form while geometric shaped brushed silver earrings include a single dangling black crystal.
Belle Roussel inspired me to step outside my comfort zone and present Out Damned Spot! wrapped in a haute couture ribbon of sorts. A quite Grave wrapping, too! I have always wanted to go shopping at Graves Leather/Latex/Metal and now this gave me the perfect excuse. Savage, the strappy design from Graves, jumped up a screamed 'Take me home'. How could I resist?

No ordinary shoes would do to finish off this outfit, so I found Raptor, my favorite pair of Mea Culpa shoes. An exclusive skin from sYs and one of Miamai hair pieces and I am transformed. Thank you Belle!

Out Damned Spot! does not need Shakespeare to speak its praises, for it takes center stage all on its own.

How Many Frogs Must I Kiss?

Once upon a time, in a land called Stance, there lived a Fashion Princess. In this land of poses and props the Fashion Princess found a lonely frog surrounded by a dense forest, seated upon a rock.

Sad and lonely herself, the Fashion Princess sat down beside the frog and they began to talk. The frog praised her beauty and grace, exclaiming she was the fairest in the Kingdom. The Fashion Princess smiled and said that her soft and silky skin shone because of the hard working people of Glam Affair. The artistry of her hair was woven by Tukinowaguma. And her eyelashes were shaped and molded by [ glow ] studio. The small frog croaked his approval.


The frog's eyes moved over her enticing dress and leered at the tight fitting bodice, revealing skirt and exotic shoes. The Fashion Princess proudly announced her dress was hand stitched by the famous eXxEsS couturier and her shoes shaped upon her feet by Sim I Lar Italian Footwear.


Finally, the lonely frog begged for a kiss from the Fashion Princess. Moved to pity by the frog's forlorn and poignant pleas, the Fashion Princess lifted the sad frog from the rock and brought him to her lips.


Has the Fashion Princess found her true Prince or must she kiss frog after frog before finding true love? There is one pose left that only her Prince can share.

Apocalypse Now

For all anti-Valentine prone fashionistas, may I present my version of Cupid. Beware this Cupid's arrows, for they do not bring tidings of love.



















In the post-Apocalyptic world of The Wasteland, Cupid does not search for love, but survival. While there I barely escaped alive when confronted by a Ghoul. If you enjoy an extraordinary roleplay experience, check out The Wasteland.


The Wasteland is an incredibly detailed and conceived themed SIM. It is worth the time to check out this SIM just for the amazing landscaping. Take your time and really look around. There is a great deal to see and sections of the SIMs change in appearance. While you are there, look into some roleplay.

The Wasteland

I Give You My Heart

From that first moment, you held my heart in your hands. It beat only while you breathed life into it.

St. Valentine's Day is not meant for candy, flowers or cards, but for an expression of caring and support for those who have touched your heart and soul. Whether they be child or parent, friend or co-worker, lover or companion; tell them just how much they mean to you. Never wait for one day a year, but say it every day.

Most importantly, tell yourself how special you are. You deserve it!

Lucky Me at Tres Beau!

How can life get any better? Today I received an absolutely gorgeous red dress named 'Valentine' from Tres Beau. Kimmera Madison is one of my favorite Second Life designers, always giving us stylish, chic and unique clothing.


'Valentine' has a combination of an open front skirt and ruffled ballgown train that creates a formal look while showing off a woman's shapely legs. The corset bodice has an elegant and intricate design with a daringly low cut back. Red, opera length gloves with matching ruffled prims are the perfect accent.


You would think all that would make this the perfect Valentine dress, but I haven't mentioned the best part. It was free! Kimmera Madison has the 'Valentine' dress on the lucky chair in her store! Run, do not walk, to Tres Beau as quickly as possible before this breath-taking dress disappears from the Lucky Chair.


And while you are waiting for your letter to appear, look around the store and pick up one or two of Kimmera's other amazing creations. If you are like me, you will want everything you see.

The Invitation Said Black Tie

I will admit I LOVE formal wear of all kinds. So much so I have lost count of all the evening and ball gowns I own. Then I found 'Le Smoking' at SF Design, I could not help but grab it on sight!

Several years ago, not going to say exactly how many, my nephew asked me to be a part of his wedding by decorating the reception hall and greetings guests as they entered. It was wintertime and I really did not want to run around in a dress in a state where 30◦ wind chill factor is commonplace. When I finally resigned myself to freezing to death for the sake of family, I walked into a high end store and was amazed to find a woman's tuxedo.

swaffette Firefly, owner and designer of SF Design, created this amazing and stylish Yves St Laurent tribute for women. Don't be fooled by the fact that 'Le Smoking' is a tuxedo, because femininity does not suffer in the least. To prove that, I was invited to dance several times during the photo shoot. One gentleman said he thought a woman in a tuxedo was incredibly sexy.

'Le Smoking' is a perfectly tailored tuxedo that accentuates a woman's figure. The black flexi jacket has an amazing texture of a crushed velvet. The high necked dress shirt and cuffs are accented with white ruffles. The tuxedo pants are topped with the traditional cummerbund. Prim arms, shoulders and pant legs add that extra dimension and depth to the design. swaffette even added shoes in the Mary Jane style to complete the outfit.

Surviving the Holiday Heat

As you may know, July 4th is Independence Day in America. Picnics in the park, afternoon at the beach and spectacular fireworks in the evenings are just a few of the activities for this holiday weekend.

Hot summer weather doesn't mean you cannot be cool and fashionable. I found the ideal outfit for celebrating the 4th at Simay Design. Check out Panama, a stylish short ensemble. A strapless top tied provocatively between the breasts to allow the hot July sun to tan your shoulders.

Loose fitting shorts tied with a cloth belt made of matching material are perfect for a stroll down the beach or down the main street of fashionable boutiques. The texture is unique with an equestrian motif in black, orange and yellow/gold on a white background.

I loved the matching jewelry so much I decided to snatch up the tiered disk necklace and earrings in gold and orange. A floppy straw hat is the perfect topper with two matching material flowers off to the side. Bright orange flowered flat sandals finish off this summer style.

KTQ Komfy Klothing

Sitting here at the keyboard in my pajamas (admit it, you do it too), I thought why not let my avatar dress in comfortable clothing.

So I decided to pull out my Hello Kitty pj's from KTQ Designs. What better way to relax in your Second Life home than in bright pink jammy bottoms with the classic Hello Kitty texture.

A simple white tank along with fuzzy white slippers complete that 'no one will see me' style we all love to wear at home.

Add a floppy and loose ponytail pinned back with bobby pins and you are ready for quiet night in with a bowl of popcorn and movie.


Funny, because as I am writing this blog I looked down and saw I am wearing the same outfit, except my slippers are blue. LOL

Son!a's Sweet Summertime Dress

Everyone talks about finding the perfect little black dress. Well, I found that dress, and not just in black! Sonia28 Jie, owner and designer of Son!a Luxury Fashion is known grid wide for her extraordinary wedding and evening gowns. I am here to remind you Sonia28 has also created amazing casual clothing.

Nadja is a sweet and feminine short dress, perfect for summertime fun. The plunging halter top ties behind the neck with prim ribbons hanging down an exposed back. The midriff is covered by a high-waisted band of sheer lace, teasing the viewer with a bit skin.

The skirt gives the appearance of multiple layers; a straight skirt with a soft netting overlaying skirt trimmed with scalloped lace matching the midriff. Leaving no detail overlooked, Sonia28 Jie even added lace edges to the glitch pants under the skirt.

Nadja is available in two styles - a sweet polka dot, as seen in the black and the white dress photos and a gentle textured print, like the beige. Table set for two. Candles burning softly. Romantic music playing in the background. Now all you need is an outfit to make his eyes pop out of their sockets. Well, here it is!

morea Decosta of Morea Style has brought us another stunning outfit. Savanah reminds me of the beautiful lounging sets of the 1940's movies when women dressed well just to relax around the house. The sleek, form-fitting body suit hugs every curve of your shape except one leg exposed from ankle to hip. Off-the-shoulder sleeves are draped with long flowing, lacy sleeves. morea even provided two different styles of sleeves to choose from. Matching flexi pant prims run from knee to ankle, giving the pants a soft and feminine appeal.


Don't want to stay in for the night? Not to worry, because Savanah changed from pants to elegant dress in a click of a mouse. Simply add the long, prim skirt and you are ready for a formal ball or an evening of dancing.

Professional and chic for today's business woman

Have you ever seen a photo of a new release and say to yourself, 'I have got to have that!'? That was my reaction when I saw Celine, a new release from !Terra D'ombrA.

maizon Rayna, a gifted designer, has created a statement that the modern day business woman does not have the sacrifice style for practicality. Each of her creations has a life of its own.

Celine is a smart and sharp black tweed suit, with clean lines lines that flatter a woman. Fashionable, yet at the same timeless in its style and form. The standing V-shaped sculpted jacket collar and sculpted shoulders create a striking frame for the wearer's face. The tailored jacket is fitted at the waist, accentuating a woman's figure rather than hiding it. The jacket bottom ends with a slight flair and is fastened with a large single silver swirled button. Adding to the elegance, a simple white silk shell is all the top needed.



The A-line skirt, a business suit staple, has not been overlooked. A wide sculpted ruffle is offset to the side. It begins wide at the waist and tapers down to end just a little passed the skirt hem. This added prim give the skirt unique styling and flair that makes it stand out without being overpowering. This suit enhances the wearer's strength and confidence in herself and her abilities. If you have ever heard the term 'power suit', this is it for a woman.

maizon did not stop with the suit. She also includes a bold and daring hat in the matching tweed. A wisp of a black netting for a veil and and a flexi feather fashioned to the hat with a deco styled hatpin and a chic look to the suit. Also, earrings matching the suit button are included, making this a truly ready to wear ensemble.

All I added to this stylist suit was a small silver crocodile clutch from DeLa and Indyra Original's black Coquette Noir pumps.

SPRING - if we blog it, it will come!

If I see one more flake of snow, I will most certainly scream! So, in the hopes that Spring will come soon, I am preparing my spring wardrobe.

And what better way to start then with a recent release from Phoenix Rising appropriately named Innocence.

Pictured here in white and green, Innocence is a sweet halter dress that dances in the wind like wildflowers.

The halter top has a dark hunter green corset-style waist with a white and green floral patterned bra that ties behind the neck. The back is bared and very alluring, inviting the warmth of the sun or the caress of a lover's fingers.

The white skirt flows long and soft to the floor, ending with a wide border of light green flowers at the bottom. This dress floats as you move as if a gentle breeze stirs it.

Ideal for a picnic along a babbling brook or casual stroll in the park, Innocence will surely turn heads your way.

With Easter approaching, I added the romantic touch of a hat. Lady Effie from Hatpins is reminiscent of the Easter Parades of the 1900's.

Reghan Straaf, an extremely talented designer, specializes in quality hats. This shamrock green chapeau (also perfect for St. Patrick's Day) is adorned with green, black and white roses, light green ribbon edging, a black bow and black and green feather plumes.

Even under a hat, Exile hair stands out. Time and time again, Kavar Cleanslate creates hair styles for women and men for all occasions. Here, a soft up sweep and gently curling tendrils beautifully accent the femininity of Innocence.

With a sweet smelling white and green rose corsage fastened around the wrist from Cazenove Creations and the rose adorning Melody shoes in white from B&G, I am ready to welcome spring with open arms.
